Yes, I have been a busy bee lately! I've been working all morning to finish up this set of ACEO's, as you can see the theme is birds. There WILL be more sets of birds, because there are SO many out there!
My scanner didn't pick up on some of the softer colors, particularly the light blue, so a couple of them look a little more washed out on the screen than they do in person. Also, on the Barn Owl, the background is actually green, not yellow.
Experimented a little more with those watercolor pencils...I have to say I really do like them! There's something I've always enjoyed about looking at art that's been done using watercolor...its somehow smoother, less grainy like when you use only colored pencil.
These were done on regular posterboard, on which the watercolors cooperated rather well. Maybe next I'll try the bristol I bought.
Theme: Birds
Includes Northern Cardinal, Mute Swan, Indian Peafowl (or Peacock as it is better known), Harris' Hawk, American Flamingo, Scarlet Macaw, Great Horned Owl, Barn Owl, Blue Jay, Common Raven, Canada Goose, Snowy Owl, Magellanic Penguin, and Peach Faced Lovebird. (Species were chosen based on the Alcarin pictures I have done this year.)
The back of each card is signed, dated, numbered, and includes the common name and the scientific name of each bird.
